Papua New Guinea

Taste

Full body (sometimes medium) with mild and mellow yet broad flavors. Bright and clean taste with a delicate sweetness, moderate acidity, and a complex aroma.

Origin

Papua New Guinea is on the eastern part of New Guinea (the western part is Indonesia’s Irian Jaya province), and north of Australia. The central highlands of Mt. Hagen in are known for their ideal coffee-growing climate and rich volcanic soils.

CoffeeMan Dan says, “Coffee cultivation in Papua New Guinea began with seeds imported from Jamaica’s renown Blue Mountain region in 1937. This heritage is not lost in today’s Papua New Guinea coffees which have flavor profiles that still exhibit similarities to the older style Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.”
